Dear Colleague,

As you may have heard, I’ve been asked to direct the Chicago extension center of SBTS beginning this fall.  Dr. Mark Coppenger has moved to Nashville to head up the SBTS extension there after eleven years of serving as church planter/pastor at Evanston Baptist Church.  Dr. Coppenger has also been appointed to oversee all the SBTS extensions, including Chicago.

Spring 2012 classes will still be held at Evanston Baptist Church, and I’m excited as ever about our seminary program.  For those of you who are not familiar with me, I’m an alumnus of the Chicago extension, having earned my M.A. in Missions through the center in 2009, so I will be able to assist you in navigating the program.  A few years ago I and another Chicago extension alumnus, Bob Burns of Armitage Baptist Church, put together the attached document called "A Roadmap for Taking Classes on the Main Campus." It is intended to offer practical tips on transportation, lodging, food and other issues related to taking classes in Louisville.  We hope you find it to be a helpful guide when doing your J-terms on campus.

As for the Chicago center at Evanston, you can check out the Spring 2012 offerings at http://www.sbts.edu/extension/centers/chicago-il/

Our two fine faculty for the three courses, which run in series from January 28 to May 5, can be seen at these links:

I hope you’ll take advantage of these front-line professors from Louisville.  Let me also suggest that the Chicago extension is a great place to explore one’s call.  If you know people who sense that God may be dealing with them in this connection, our courses provide good opportunity to test the waters.  They can enroll as special students.

If you have any questions about the SBTS-Chicago courses, please give me a call at 773-784-2922 or email me at mmejones7@gmail.com.  I look forward to seeing you soon.

Thanks!
